About Lightfoot Inc.

Lightfoot Inc. is developing a warehouse automation system called Agilis, initially targeting
the Wine & Spirits industry (over $30 billion/year revenue). The warehouse distribution sector
is an industry where expenses are concentrated in the logistical costs of moving product from
the receiving dock to the shipping dock. Agilis replaces picking labor (typically 55% of labor costs*)
and reduces replenishment labor (typically 25% of labor costs*) while improving accuracy
and efficiency in the case picking process; as compared to Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (AS/RS)
which only address replenishment labor and often increase picking costs.
A distribution center's profitability hinges on both reliable and efficient processing of orders.
On time, accurate shipments are the lifeblood of distribution centers. This goal, critical to
a distribution centers continued success, is often threatened by a labor force that frequently
quits, does not show up reliably for work, throws product around causing damage to product
and conveyor systems, or picks the wrong product.
Agilis’s unique ability to sense its environment
allows it to seamlessly integrate with current warehouse processes and infrastructure, allowing for complete
or incremental conversion of existing facilities. Agilis’s product trend analysis
capabilities enable
the system to improve floor space utilization and increase picking efficiency. These capabilities make
Agilis unique in this space and provide a strong competitive advantage and ROI.
Our seasoned engineering team combines experience in robotics, artificial intelligence
and enterprise software development. Lightfoot is nearing completion of the Agilis prototype and, leveraging
the relationships cultivated over the past 3 years with the top 3 distributors in the Wine and Spirits industry,
is planning for on-site trials beginning Q3 2007.
